Unified trip to Chinns Lake,

then Group 2 trip to Kingston Peak June 27th, 2026

On June 27th we will have a unified trip to Chinns Lake and then there will be an optional Group 2 trip up Kingston Peak as this is a difficult rated trail.

These are new trails for CSC4W! Our club has not done these before so it will be a unique experience for all who attend.

Chinns Lake is a beautiful high elevation lake near St. Mary's Glacier. The trail to get there is relatively short and is rated moderate due to one rough section, but most of it is easy.

Group 2 will then head North to the Kingston Peak trail. This is technically a difficult rated trail so it will be geared more for Group 2 or for those within Group 1 that are more experienced or looking for a challenge. This trail will be a steep climb up to 12,000 feet before descending a shelf road on the way down.

The group will be meeting at the intersection of I-70 and Fall River Road (Exit 238) at 9 AM and then travel to the trails from there.

If you want to camp the night before you are welcome to do so, however, securing a campsite will be on your own. There are some reservable campsites in the area.

Your trail leaders will be Doug and Glenn.
