Twin Cone Trip Report 2008
Here is the Trip Report for Saturday, June 28, to Twin Cone with Group 1. We had a total of 9 Jeeps on the trail, with me leading everyone from Safeway over to Kenosha Pass, where we met with Director Ben. He had camped out with his family the night before, already tried Georgia Pass, and found out it was still snowed in on the northwest side.
So, Ben changed plans and we all went up the trail to Twin Cone. This actually proved to be a wonderful challenge to all of us. Over the years this moderately easy trail has been dug out and is now moderately difficult in about 5 places. Those of us with lockers actually used them several times. We ate lunch near the top. When we reached the top after lunch we let the various families hike a little, throw snowballs at each other, and take both group and family pictures.
Then we all faced the long trip home, or at least it always seems longer. The trip was very successful and much enjoyed by all.
