Spring Creek Trip Report 2008
Spring Creek - June 28, 2008
We met at the Safeway parking lot on Colorado Avenue to determine who would lead the different trips. Based on the individuals who chose Group II Denny decided I would lead the Spring Creek trip.
After getting a late start from Safeway with 3 vehicles (included mine) we headed down I-25 to pick up an additional 2 vehicles. On the way to Spring Creek, we spoke with Pete Johns who met up with us in Downiville to help lead the trip. So, we headed up the trail with a total of 6 vehicles.
There happened to be a family that joined us with a stock Toyota Tacoma who thought they were doing Group I. We helped them through the trail and they had a great time, with only minor damage to a taillight. When we got to the “Boulder Field” it began to rain but it only lasted about 15 minutes or so. There was a couple who hooked up with us in the “Boulder Field” and wheeled with us to the end of the trail. It was a great trip everyone had a wonderful time, weather was good, and no major breakage or damage.
We had great fellowship which continued as we all joined for dinner at Beaujos in Idaho Springs. A big thanks to Pete Johns for joining us and helping lead the trip .
