Chinaman Gulch 2008 Trip Report

It was a chilly start to our day when we started out for the trail at 8:00 AM but by the time we hit the trail it had warmed up to be a pleasant sunny day. Ben Boggan was the trail leader with Dick Dyar being the caboose to hold the group together. We only had 7 vehicles make the trip so we did not need to rush to the trail.

Once we were on the trail with this small group we were able to take our time and enjoy the many fun obstacles on the Chinaman's Gulch trail. We did encounter several other 4WD vehicles on the trail and a couple of ATVs but overall it was a very quiet day. For lunch we stopped at Little Double Whammy where we could enjoy either the shade or catch a few rays from the sun.

We had a couple of vehicle breakdowns but were able repair the vehicles on the trail. It's always good to travel on the trail with people with welders and lots of duct tape and know how to use both. Due to the small but capable group we finished the trail around 3:30 PM and headed for home.

It was a great day on the trail thanks to the cheerful and fun-loving attitudes of all of the people who went with us.
