Slaughterhouse Gulch 2010 Trip Report
TRIP REPORT FOR: MAY 22, 2010 - TRIP TO Slaughterhouse Gulch
To start many thanks to Randy Musselman for stepping in to help lead the trip since Pete was unable to attend. It was an absolute beautiful day lots of sunshine and even more wind, the start was way too early but we still had about 8 vehicles. With the trail improvements that had been done we went through the trail one way by 10:00 am so we turned around and did it the other way. We stopped for lunch for about an hour so the kids and dogs could have some fun and were off the trail by 1:00 pm.
The trail is easier than Rainbow Falls at this point, so some of us looking for a challenge, on the way back stopped by the Falls and ran into group one. We went up to the Moab rocks to play and that is when my day came to an abrupt stop. I broke the rear drive shaft on the first rock (now that is more challenging). So I limped home with my poor abused Jeep and Randy led the rest of the group back after some play.
Thanks again to Randy for all his help and dedication.
