Rainbow Falls 2010 Trip Report
TRIP REPORT FOR: May 22, 2010 - Rainbow Falls
Rainbow Falls Trip was a great time. Group leaders were Bob Ribisi and Buddy Beach. We had 28 Vehicles & 41 Members. We would like to thank Jamie Davis for volunteering to be the mid-gunner due to the number of vehicles. We also had 3 new members (Families) that signed up Saturday morning. We had 2 Families that join us just for the day.
We left Safeway parking lot around 9:10am and headed up the pass to Woodland Park then off to Rainbow Falls. We regrouped at the parking lot where we had our Drivers meeting. We talked about when you get to a new trail head; you wait for the vehicle behind you to catch up & to make sure that the vehicle sees which way you are going. Also talked about possibly motorcycles and ATV’s, that could be sharing the trail with us. We had four vehicles that ended up going the wrong way. We were able to contact them & they caught up with the group. We had a few vehicles that tried the first hill and the rest of us took the easy way around.
We met at 348E trail for lunch & let around 12:15 to hit the trail. The next obstacle way MOAB wall, where we had a few vehicles play while others watched. Got back to the parking lot around 2:45pm & everyone went on their way back home.
