Mt Baldy 2010 Trip Report
TRIP REPORT FOR: June 5, 2010 - Mt Baldy
The weather for our trip was perfect. Slight overcast, mild breeze, and somewhere near 70 degrees. We departed from St Paul's Catholic church shortly after 8 a.m. and met up with Robby and Scott from the Forest Service near the entrance to the trail head to Mt. Baldy.
We split up into three teams and got busy with most of the work involving constructing / repairing fences and trash pickup. We then enjoyed a wonderful lunch provided by Jim Jenista (one of our members). After lunch, we tackled another project and knocked it out in about an hour. We then split up with approximately nine vehicles going to Mt. Baldy and four going to Eagle Rock. Other members returned home at that time. Despite some initial concern we were able to make it to the gate on Mt Baldy. It was a great day and we accomplished a good deal of work.
Thanks so much to those that assisted us, we really appreciate all your help! And a special thanks to Jim Jenista for the outstanding lunches that you provided. The lunches left over were taken to the Springs rescue Mission.
