Iron Chest/Grizzly Lake Trip Report 2009
A few people camped Friday night off the trail to Mt. Antero and other's met at Safeway at 6:00. We met up with everyone at the trail head to Iron Chest, we had 7 rigs for the trip. There was a rig that we invited to join the group at the trail head. Everyone made it through the rock garden with no major problems and headed to the top. We all arrived and hiked up to the flag at the top of the peak.
Then we all headed back to the vehicles for lunch. There was another group that came up while eating lunch, it was the "Colorado 4-Wheelers" club. After heading back down, we decided to head up to Grizzly Lake. There was a rig at the water crossing that joined our group and we headed to the lake. Some went for a walk and let the dogs play near the water. Kyle Vistuba went fishing - the fish weren't biting, no fresh fish for dinner. We all parted at the lake, everyone headed back down on their own.
It was a great day, weather was good, some threatening thunder but never rained - just a few sprinkles. Everyone had a great time and great fellowship, we shared our club information with the 2 rigs that joined the group.
