April 19 SATURDAY - METBERRY GULCH
UNIFIED TRIP FOR BOTH GROUPS Metberry Gulch off Cedar Mountain Road
Depart from Safeway on W. Colorado Ave. at 9:00 AM. Bring a lunch, snacks, drinks, camera, and we will work our way down to the South Platte River for a picnic, fishing, hiking, pictures and more. See the results of the terrible Hayman Fire on the way. Bob Robson & Denny Hage Trip Leaders
MAY 3 SATURDAY - CHINA WALL & CHINAMAN'S GULCH
Group I , China Wall, Trip Leaders - Pete Johns & Tom Thompson
Depart from Safeway on W. Colorado Ave. at 9:00 AM. The China Wall trip takes you on Hwy. 24 to Lake George, turn right on Tarryall Road, proceed north to China Wall, Several small challenges, scenic view, lunch by Tarryall River. Visit a challenging area to watch how lockers work on the way out of the trail. Home on your own.

Depart from Safeway on W. Colorado Ave at 7:00 AM. Early Departure to beat the crowd, restroom break & fill up your vehicle at Johnson Village at the Gunsmoke Truck Stop. A challenging trail, help each other where needed, lunch on the trail, try to finish the trail before dark, home on your own.

Both Groups depart at 9:00 AM from Lithia Jeep. Go up Old Stage Road, then Gold Camp Road to the respective trails listed, lunch on the trail, bring camera. Enjoy looking over the 2008 new Jeeps while at Lithia.

MAY 31 SATURDAY - TEXAS CREEK & SLAUGHTERHOUSE GULCH
Group I , Texas Creek - Trip Leaders - Rollie Becker & Buddy Beach
Depart Safeway at Hwy. 115 & S. Academy at 8:00 AM. The trip takes you south on Hwy. 115 to Penrose, then Hwy. 50 West to Canon City , past Royal Gorge into the Bighorn Sheep Canyon . Texas Creek Trail System is several miles further west. Could be very warm already, so bring plenty of water, your lunch and snacks.
Group II , Slaughterhouse Gulch - Trip Leaders Dave Chladek & Pete Johns
Depart from Safeway on W. Colorado Ave. at 8:00 AM., Bring lunch, drinks, camera and warm jacket if needed.

JUNE 7 SATURDAY - ANNUAL CLUB CLEANUP DAY
This is a UNIFIED TRIP. Depart from St. Paul's Catholic Church behind the Broadmoor Hotel at 8:00 AM. RSVP to Dick Dyar. Bring your own lunch, plenty of drink, gloves, hoes & rakes The U. S. Forest Service folk will guide & direct us in what to do. Wear long sleeves, wide brimmed hat, sun screen, etc. We stop early enough to do some 4 wheeling before going home.
The Mt. Baldy Trail system has been adopted by the club and can be reached via Old Stage Road, then Gold Camp Road to the trailhead.
JUNE 14 SATURDAY - BREAKFAST - XRRA RACE DAY
Breakfast at FOUR WHEEL PARTS at 8:00 A.M. Then we depart at 9:00 AM as a club. Go out Hwy. 94 East of Colorado Springs & attend the races together as a club.

Some of the club members requested that we schedule a trip to see the XRRA races when they are in Colorado Springs. XRRA Rock Racing is the most Xtreme Off-Road racing action ever witnessed.

JUNE 28 SATURDAY - GEORGIA PASS & SPRING CREEK
Group I - Georgia Pass - Trip Leader - Ben Boggan & Bob Robson
Group II - Spring Creek - Trip Leaders - Dick Dyar & Denny Hage
Both groups will depart from Safeway on Colorado Avenue at 8:00 A.M. We take Hwy. 24 west to the respective trail heads. Bring everything you might need for a long day on the trail, like a camera, snacks and lunch, etc.
JULY 11-12 CAMPOUT - SAND DUNES & MT BLANCA
Take off a half day from work. Departure for both groups 2:00 P.M. Meet at the Safeway at Hwy. 115 & S. Academy. We take Hwy. 115 South to the individual camping sites for the night.
Group I - The Great Sand Dunes - Trip Leaders - Tom Thompson & Buddy Beach
Camp Friday night, go over Medano Pass on Saturday A.M. Picnic at the Pavillion, play on the Dunes, trek back across Medano Pass late afternoon, & back home for the night.
Group II - Mount Blanca - Trip Leaders - Dave Chladek & Ben Boggan
Go all the way to Mount Blanca and find a great camping spot. Continue on up Jaws 1, 2 & 3 on Saturday to lunch at Lake Como. Those going home Sat. then proceed back down & head home. Others may camp at Lake Como, proceed back down on Sunday, proceed on home later that day.
JULY 25-26 FRIDAY & SATURDAY UNIFIED TRIP - BOULDER AREA
New trails in the Boulder area. Selected trails will be given for both Groups after arrival.
A unified campout will be held on Friday night. Bring all of your own camping gear, food, drink, campfire snacks. Pack your camera for the new trails we will see on this trip!

AUG 8-9 FRIDAY & SATURDAY - CAMP HALE & HOLY CROSS
Group I - Camp Hale - Trip Leader -Bill Fanning
Group II - Holy Cross- Trip Leaders - Dave Chladek & Dick Dyar
Both groups Depart Friday, 12 NOON , from Safeway on Colorado Avenue . West on Hwy. 24 past Leadville. All camp at Camp Hale together Friday night. On Saturday Group 1 explores the Camp Hale Trail System and heads home. It will be a very late arrival back in Colorado Springs , either by the same route, or by I-70 home. Group 2 will do the Holy Cross Trail Saturday. You need an early departure to get ahead of the many other groups that will likely be there that day. Some may prefer to extend the trip and return on Sunday.
AUGUST 23 SATURDAY - MINER'S LOOP & GRIZZLY LAKE
Group I - Miner's Loop - Trip Leaders - Tom Thompson & Rollie Becker
Group II - Iron Chest - Trip Leaders - Denny Hage & Ben Boggan.
Both groups Depart at: 7:00 A.M. from Safeway on Colorado Avenue. Both groups travel together to trail heads near St. Elmo. From there Group 1 takes Hancock Pass, goes to the Alpine Tunnel, goes via Cumberland Pass to the town of Tincup. If time allows we catch a snack & drink there, go over Tincup Pass to St. Elmo, feed the chipmunks, and head home. A long but awesome day! Group 2 spends the day doing one of the two trails listed, as seems best. Both are picturesque, but difficult & challenging. Lunch is on the trail. Probably off the trail and headed back home by early evening.
AUG. 29 - SEP. 1
FRIDAY TO MONDAY - LABOR DAY WEEKEND TRIP
Unified Trip Leader Denny Hage
Departure on Friday at 8:00 A.M.. from Safeway on Colorado Avenue. Both Groups travel together with lunch and refueling in Gunnison. We continue on into Lake City for a Rest Stop & Stretch. Then proceed to Alpine Loop and start up the trail to American Basin for pictures. Go over Cinnamon Pass & proceed to camping area or motel in Silverton for the night. Eat together in Silverton if you wish. Saturday, we gather at south end of town & decide which trails you wish to do. At this point everyone is to go on their own &/or in small groups of like interest. All options will be fully explained. You may go home that day, stay and go home on Sunday, or stay and go home on Monday, Labor Day. You are to plan in advance what you wish to do with others in our Club. This could be your GREATEST TRIP!
SEPT. 6 SATURDAY - Christmas for Kids Fund Raiser
9AM - 5PM RAM Off-Road park (East Hwy 94 toward Schriever)
Donation to drive trails per vehicle: $20 or $15 if you bring an unwrapped toy (price includes everyone in vehicle) Spectators: $5
Volunteers needed at event: Gate duty, safety safari, general runners
Volunteers prior to event: Donations for small raffle, Vendor support (ie. contacting Predator, 4 Wheel parts, etc)
Raffle Vehicle will be there from the CO4WD Association.
SEPT. 13 SATURDAY - ARGENTINE PASS & WHEELER LAKE
Group I - Argentine Pass- Trip Leaders - Ben Boggan & Buddy Beach.
Group II - Wheeler Lake - Trip Leaders - Pete Johns & Bob Robson
Departure for both Groups 8:00 A.M. at Safeway on Colorado Avenue. We take Hwy. 24 west and go north on Hwy. 9 towards Breckenridge. Group 1 goes on north closer to I-70 for an extremely beautiful trail. Bring your camera. Get someone to take your picture with your vehicle. It could be your postcard picture for the summer. Group 2 takes Hwy. 9 nearly to Hoosier Pass, but you cut off to the west and begin the Wheeler Lake Trail. You MUST have 33 inch tires for ground clearance. Trail becomes narrow, very rocky, and very steep. Your vehicle must be modified with high clearance. Both these groups will eat lunch somewhere on the trail.
SEPT. 27 SATURDAY - BREAKFAST & UNIFIED TRIP TO PENROSE

- 8:00 A.M. Breakfast at Lithia Jeep
Departure from Lithia Jeep at 9 A.M. We will take Hwy. 115 south to Penrose, turn right toward Brush Hollow Reservoir & proceed to the extremely challenging Penrose Trail System. Group 1 can drive the easy trails in the surrounding area. But the main focus for this final trip is to WATCH WHAT THESE VEHICLES CAN DO. This is an extreme trail system where rock buggies can even be very challenged. If you can't drive the trails, you will be highly entertained watching vehicles do the nearly impossible climbing up dry waterfalls, etc.
DEC. 6th SATURDAY - CHRISTMAS FOR KIDS
This year's contact for the Christmas for Kids project is Belma Smith and her phone number is 328-0826. If you want to adopt a child give her a call and she will give you the name, age, gender, case worker's name of the child and a gift suggestion. The recommended amount to spend on the gift is $25.00 to $30.00, but you can spend whatever you feel is appropriate. After wrapping the present you will need to put the case worker's name on the back of the name tag.
On December 6, 2008 meet on Kelly Johnson Blvd behind the Burger King on North Academy at 9:00AM, the parade will be leaving at 10:00AM. Decorate your vehicle for the parade if you can and come join in the fun. For those of you who are new to this event we are escorted by the police down Union Blvd. to Boulder St., to Cascade Ave., then to Bijou St. and end up at the DHS.
After the children are given their gifts a raffle is to be held at Southside Johnny's at 528 S. Tejon from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. The money made from the raffle goes toward purchasing more gifts for the kids.
